Has anyone ever seen this show before? It was on Showtime, Sunday nights at 9:00 pm but they replay it all week long. The first season is over now and I'm waiting to find out when the second season starts. If you haven't seen it you have to....I'm hooked. The main charcter is Michael C. Hall from Six Feet Under. He works in Homicide with the Miami Metro Police Department but spends his free time hunting and killing bad guys. When I first saw this I thought it was kind of weird but soon after got hooked. This photo is of "The Great Salt Air" along side Interstate 80 on the Great Salt Lake. It is now a concert hall and recently has seen bands such as Blue's Traveler, Alice in Chains, Buck Cherry and Snow Patrol will be there in March. It is a cool venue right on the lake. Awesome in the summer time.

Happy New Year Everyone!

Another year has come and gone. This last year was exciting and sad at the same time. Hopefully this is a good year and as time goes by it gets a little easier being out here. Hope everyone had a good New Years Eve. We went to a friends house who had a party and had a good time! Me and Jim (Mr. Beam) had a good time as usual! Played cards and darts and had a ggod time but missed all of you at home. I hope you all were able to get your "drunk on" and celebrated the New Year. I like your idea Slinger of posting a picture everyday of the year so I too am up to the challenge. They may not always be exciting photo's but I will try my best to post some good ones. This is a whole new year and I'm hoping more people come to visit me other than BPDP. Looking forward to seeing you all sometime this year whether it's here or there. We're coming home in July for sure to drop of the kids for the whole month and we'll be back again at the end of the month to pick them up. The end of January is Sundance film fest McGone. Come on out here and we'll go celebrity watching and drink a few beers. You gotta come man....it'll be fun! I'll leave you with a few pics from Jan.1 . Talk to you all later!

Another Christmas has Come and Gone......

Another Christmas came and went but this Christmas was different then previous. It didn't feel like Christmas. It just felt like any other day. We were so excited not to have to "run all over the place and not have any time to relax because we have to run to the next parents house" that we didn't stop to think that maybe we would miss that. Miss not seeing our families. I mean the kids had a good day playing with their toys but it just wasn't the same for me & Diana. We realized what Christmas really was for us...running around and trying to visit everyone with such little time. Going out in the cold to load the truck up with presents to take to mom and dad's only to unload them again once we got there and then in a couple of hours round up all their toys and reload them back into the truck only to unload all of them again once we got home. Beleive it or not we missed all of this. Christmas wasn't the same...it was lonely. Maybe next year we will make it home. Maybe....

That there lightning bug

Today when I was talking to Cori out of the blue she started talking about lightning bugs and asked why we don't have lightning bugs out here. This is something we talked about last summer when we realized we don't have lightning bugs out here. Anyways...talking about that made me think of a poem my Great Grandfather wrote and my mom used to read to me when I was a kid. I thought I would share it with you guys.....hope you like it.

That there lightning bug

I walked out through the garden
on a dark and moonless night
A thousand golden candles
flickered there within my sight

With a graceful flowing motion
they were dancing all around
Ever silently, softly glowing
from the tree tops to the ground

Like embers from a fire
they shot into the air
No pattern to their movement
just darting here to there

As falling stars that travel
through the darkness of the night
Nothing seems to bother
the capers of their flight

When the show was over
and the candles ceased to glow
It surely made me wonder
