Saturday Night Flick
Did anyone else sit down with a bowl of popcorn, get a warm blanket, turn off the lights and put this movie in or was it just me? It's a classic.
Big Night for Spiezio & Suppan!
Huge night tonight for St. Louis as Suppan not only
hit a homerun but dominated the mound after the 5 - 0 win over the Mets! Spiezio also contributed tonight with a huge hit and who knows where he will be playing tomorrow. Cardinals lead series 2 -1 and hopefully we can make it 3 - 1 after tomorrow! They have to be partying in St. Louis tonight. Wish we were there BPDP! All I have to say is kick A#@!

We decided last week that we (Diana and I) were going to leave early (5:00 a.m.) and head up to Little Cottonwood Canyon just past Snowbird & Alta and look for moose. Now I've seen moose in the wild before and Diana hasen't so we were really excited about seeing some. So excited we got there about 1 hour before the sun came up so we sat in the dark and waited like two kids on Christmas morning only to be disappointed because we got underwear. (No moose.) Nothing....we saw 4 deer and that was it. No lousy moose at all. We were kind of bummed but we decided to make the most of the morning and check out Big & Little Cottonwood Canyons a little better. All and all we had a great day exploring. The lake pictures were Silver Lake. Notice I added a couple pictures of the Trooper today. (Didn't want to hurt it's feelings.) You could feel the snow in the air and looking at the snow covered peaks this morning I know now it won't be long until winter is here and I can't wait.

Oh So (Taguchi) Good!
F&*%'in A! So Taguchi hits a game winning solo shot to break the 6-6 tie, but the talk of the night has to be Scott Spiezio! Chevy Player of the Game! Atta boy, Scott!!!!
Pictured here with the start of his "imperial", "soul patch", or as McGone and I are calling it, simply a "Spiezio". I searched for a picture of the Mariner blue "Spiezio", but I couldn't find one...I swear I remember it being blue before he came StL and changed it to red. Regardless, I'm glad it's Cardinal red now!
Yeah Baby!!! Could this be the spark the Cardinals need?? We'll see? For now, I'm F&^%'in LOVIN' IT!!
Back to St. Louis! Go Cards, Go!!!!
BPDP
P.S. Can't sleep now, looks like it's down to Clayton's for a victory beer! I wonder how many "band wagon jumpers" will be there toasting Spiez after they were roasting him so badly last year??

Aaaahhhhh.....The Ore House. Home away from home. This is my sanity on crappy weeks. Me and Diana went here last Saturday night for a few beers and burgers. It was cold outside and inside they had the fireplace going and it felt great! In the summer time on Friday and Saturday nights they have bands but Saturday we had to deal with Kareoke. There was one lady who sang like a cat who's tail was stuck in a vaccum cleaner. Horrible...but the beer was cold, the shots were plentiful and the "Haus Burger", named after the bartender, was awesome! It is two half pound patties covered with grilled onions and three types of melted cheese. All this served with beer battered seasoned fries. Oh my God...I think my arteries are clogging just typing that. Anyways....they have 2 pool tables, dart boards, shuffleboard table, juke box, outside bar, outside horseshoe pits and a outside fire pit. It's on a dead end road across from the copper mine with great mountain views. If you guys ever come out we will definitely end up at The Ore House.
Friday the 13th.....So What.
So today is Friday the 13th......So what. I agree with Slinger, I'm tired of people at work telling me that they may not come to work today because "something might happen!" Well "something might happen" to them if they keep saying this to me. It's just another freaking day like every other freaking day. Some good MAY happen but something bad ALWAYS happens. I know this personally. It's like instead of "Groundhogs Day" I'm stuck in my own "Friday the 13th Day." I had someone at work tell me that last Friday the 13th they spilled something on their shirt......I SPILL SOMETHING ON MY SHIRT EVERYDAY! So to all the people out there who believe in Friday the 13th, watch out, be careful and you just MAY make it through the day alive!

Rain Rain Go Away.....
Hopefully the will get Game 1 going tonight with a win! Weaver is starting pitcher. Let's hope everyone brings their A-game tonight! The picture of the seats in the middle, I found on the internet. Someone is selling tickets for game 3 in St. Louis. The guy said you can talk to the Cardinal players when they are on deck. Sound good to you BPDP? Wish we could be there. We SHOULD be there!
Left: Beer anyone? Duncan getting soaked by Pujols.
Daily Photo
This photo was taken yesterday morning. It was taken in Big Cottonwood Canyon. The creek runs alongside the road all the way to the top of the mountain. It was ice cold in July so it was unbearable yesterday! (I had to put my hands in it!) I sat on a rock and just sat and waited for an animal to cross my path but nothing. I need to go earlier to see this so we're heading up Saturday morning to a spot where moose are seen and hopefully we get some pictures! The key is to get there when it is still dark and just sit and wait. There is a huge meadow and they come there to eat. Last year when I was there and saw some I called BPDP and told him. (Been a little over 1 year ago.)

Daily Photo - Morning Roadtrip
This picture was taken standing in the parking lot of Brighton Ski Resort. You can see a little snow on top but not much. Off to the right of this picture is Silver Lake. I have posted pictures in the past of Jacob fishing at Silver Lake. Rangers told me if you come to Silver Lake at sunset you can see moose that come to the lake after the visitors have gone and eat the grass along the edge of the lake. I still have yet to do this but it is on my "To Do" list.
Snow or No Snow?
I dropped the kids off for school today and it was 38 deg. in Salt Lake City. That kind of temperature makes me think of snow and thinking of snow makes me think of skiing. Sooooo I decided I had to make a run up to Big Cottonwood Canyon and check out the snow conditions or lack there of.....I needed to find out. I've included some pictures of my morning ride and as you can see there is a little bit on the peaks but as far as snow at Brighton or Solitude there is none. But don't you worry BPDP....the temps are dropping everyday and I believe the slopes open the first week of November so it won't be long now! Hope you enjoy the pictures as I had a blast taking them. Very nice, cool morning for a ride in the mountains.
It Lives to Die Another Day
Damn the Trooper. Damn it I say! Nothing but problems. I still need that bumper sticker that says "Honk if anything falls off." If I had that a dozen or so people probably would have honked on Friday because just about everything inside my drivers rear tire shattered and fell off. I was coming back from Costco, driving about 45 mph when all of a sudden I felt the back end of my truck lock up and then break free. I hurried up and tried to stop but before I could I heard my back tire go flat. I finally limped it into a gas station and got out to survey the damages and what damages they where! Somehow I think the break pad came off and got bound up in the rotar and DESTROYED everything behind the tire and shot a piece of the rotor THROUGH the rim...THROUGH the rim causing the tire to go flat! After waiting for my neighbor to come get me, I called a tow truck to come and haul my truck to a mechanic. When I talked to the dispatch they said they were right down the street and they were sending someone out RIGHT THEN. Two hours later the truck pulled into the gas station parking lot. I had to laugh to myself when I saw the name of the company was "Speedy Towing". Not quite SPEEDY! Anyways.....3 hours later and $1,013 dollars less in our bank account to Trooper hit the road, good as any 11 year old vehicle on the road and ready to die another day.

Daily Photo's - Morning Roadtrip
I dropped the girls off at school this morning and decided to take a ride to Butterfield Canyon to check for wildlife. It was still early and overcast and I got some cool pictures of the low clouds and fog. I saw quite a few deer, turkey's and some hawks but that was about it. I go for morning rides quite a bit...it's relaxing. This week one morning I'm going up to Big Cottonwood Canyon while it's still dark in the morning. That's where I saw the moose last year about this time and hope to see another one this year! Hopefully this year its not chasing me though.

This photo was taken at a Wild Horse & Burro Rescue down the road from our house. The is a goverment ran ranch that rounds up wild horses and burro's and brings them to this ranch and adopt's them out. None of them are broken and there are over 500 horse's & burro's roaming the property. They ship these horses all over the country to other ranches to sell including one in Illinois and one in Wisconsin. We took Cori here and stayed for a few hours. I don't know who had more fun...Cori or Diana.
Road Trip
Today we decided to take a road trip. Now usually when WE go on road trips the destination is unknown. We just get in the car and drive. Well today we went south and once again we headed for the hills...or mountains. We were at about 8,000 ft. and at that high the trees start to get scarce. Anyways...we all had fun. Elk hunting season started this weekend so there were hunters everywhere! Didn't get to see any but saw some deer and eagles. I attatched some of the photo's from our little road trip. (Hope you enjoy.)
Bring on the Mets!!
