We'll Get Them Tomorrow!
So Taguchi could only do so much. Too bad the Padres pitching shut down Albert and pretty much the rest of the Cardinals too! Chris Carpenter pitches tomorrow and hopefully he pitches like he did the first game and we should take the series tomorrow!

BPDP's First Post
Coming to you from a lonely Holiday Inn (possible future sponsor??) room in Beaver Falls, PA. Just got done watching my beloved Cardinals beat the Padres 2-0 to increase their lead in the series to 2-0. Yeah baby!!! "El Hombre" proves he truly is el hombre (the man)! It hasn't been fantastic, but it's been enough and so far the sore spot this year, the pitching, HAS been fantastic...let's finish it back in STL, boys!
A shout out to Slinger and Mama Slinger on their anniversary! Hope your goalie is "in the zone" tonight, Mama, unless you guys are trying for 4 on number 4!
Also, I'd like to say thanks to Utah Dagger for allowing me to contribute to this blogsite! Blogs From the Mountains can kind-of apply to my posting today, if you want to call these rolling hills here in eastern PA mountains.
...gotta go! It's either room service or the call girl I ordered. Joking! Although there is an adult book store just down the hill from here! Yeah, yeah...I'm beginning to believe you McGone, I must have a radar for those stores!

Game 2 - Cardinals vs Padres
Jeff Weaver has been pitching better on the road since joining the Cardinals and he has the chance today to get a commanding 2-0 lead in the National League Division Series and come home on Saturday 2 games in the lead. Don't count out Jim Edmonds (Jakes favorite Cardinal). He showed everyone on Tuesday that even though he was injured the last part of regular season that he is healthy today and contributing to the team going 2 for 4. And always Albert will be there to make the game interesting and hopefully he will get another homerun or two today. The game starts at 3:00 pm today in San Diego and starting pitcher for them is Wells. Let's win this and go home up by 2.
Final Score - Game 2
Cardinals -
Padres -

This picture was taken of the Oquirrh Mountains from Butterfield Canyon. Diana took this picture and I thought it was cool how you have the trees turning colors in the lower mountains and fresh snow on the mountains in the background. This picture was taken in the middle of September. It's kind of cool that Jake's school is named after these mountains, Oquirrh School, and their Mascot is the Mountainmen. (Sounds like O-Ker)
Hawks Open 80th Season in Nashville Tonight
Blackhawks open the season tonight in Nashville after a kick a*# preseason. Hopefully this year will be different from the rest and we will be more competitive and have a lot more wins under our belt by the time the Stanley Cup Finals roll around. It would be my luck the year I move is the year the Hawks start to kick a!@ and I won't get to go to a single game. If you guys go I want pictures and lots of them. Good luck with getting down on the glass though.....maybe it will work for you this year but didn't work for us last time. Hawks are at home this weekend though playing the Blue Jackets on Saturday and Nashville again on Sunday. The game tonight starts @ 7:00 pm and unfortunately I will be at work but I'll be with them in spirit. I was going to buy the NHL package on Dish Network this year but because I'm on 2nd shift I would miss most of the games...sucks! I want to try to get to a Avalanche game this year. Hawks play them on Oct 16th and December 23rd. (Both in Colorado) Anyone wants to fly out and go to a game with me that would be kick a*#! If we hit the December 23rd game that would give you all time to save up. Awesome Christmas gifts to yourselve's. Think about it and I'll be thinking about the Hawks and how they are going to chalk up their first victory tonight over the Predators.

In Need of some Veg. Time
I am so in need of some veg. time just to sit and stare off into wilderness and do nothing. Peace and quiet and nothing....silence. I've been really crabby lately to my family and it is really bothering me. I don't know why but I have. Maybe it's because I'm homesick or maybe it's because everyday something else breaks on my P.O.S. truck or it makes a new noise that it didn't make the day before. I used to joke about the bumper sticker "Honk if something falls off." but with my truck its true. Maybe its because we haven't won the lottery yet and I'm still waiting. Waiting so that I won't have any more worries in the world. A house here...a house in Illinois...wherever I want one and if I get homesick then I'll fly home or fly my family and friends wherever I'm at. Maybe I would buy a bar across the street from Busch Stadium and have free beer on game days! I could just sit and drink with the best fans in the world and have no worries. Travel the world with my kids.....be able to buy them anything they want.....be able to go anywhere in the world I want when I just want to sit and veg. To sit and not have to do anything...so hear anything...to say anything. But unfortunately I have yet to win the lottery, kinda hard when Utah doesn't have a lottery, so I'll have to find my happy medium....try not to sweat the little things......love my family more and veg. with our local scenery.....I guess that's not such a bad thing after all.

Mormon Alert 2006
Starting this section because of BPDP. He asked on the phone if I've ever had any run ins or stories about Mormons. I've had a few and I thought of him today when we were drinking with the neighbors. I had to break the seal and we were drinking in the neighbors backyard. So I figured I would take my pyramid of beer cans to the recycling bin on the way to use the can. As I was rounding the corner of the house, arms full of cans, there was a mormon family (all 12 of them) in there Sunday best walking by and glaring and me as if I was a circus freak. I got a shameful shake of the head and my invitation to join the Mormon church will probably get lost in the mail. I am saddened that I have ruined my chances. Boo Sob Hoo Sob.
Ski Season Quickly Approaching
It's that time of year again and I'm calling on all my friends to come out for free lodging and great skiing. (This includes you McGone.) If you don't wanna ski just sit in the bar by the nice warm fire and have a few beers and enjoy the senery. The bar is probably where I will spend a good amount of my time. We are about 30 min. from door to slopes from about 4 ski resorts.( Snowbird, Alta, Solitude, Sundance) I think most resorts open Nov. 1 but most already have snow. Hopefully you guys can come out and visit my world and I guarantee you will have a blast. How could you not in a place like this?
