Cornfest 2006

Cornfest 2006 has come and almost gone. This is the first Cornfest I have missed in 34 years. You don't realize how much you'll miss everything when you leave and how homesick you will get. I've been gone for a little over 3 months and it feels like a year since I've seen my family and friends. I miss the sights, smells and sounds of Cornfest. That small town feeling of walking down liberty street on a cool fall night and seeing so many people you haven't seen in years. I miss Beerfest Friday and Saturday nights. The staying out late with friends and hitting Romines afterwards for some greasy food. Right now it is 10:45 pm in Utah and 11:45 pm in Morris. All my friends are probably at Claytons or Fools or maybe even Ebbeys. All I know is that I'm sitting here in my basement, drinking a beer, reading my friends blogs and missing everyone at home and wishing I was there with them tonight drinking a beer...or 5 or 6. I hope they're having a few beers for me. Maybe if I'm lucky I'll get back next year or maybe someone will visit me...I know come snowfall Depung will be here.
