Been there, had a beer there and, yes, I did get a shirt (though not a T-shirt)!
Did you know...
- The entrance door into Cheers opens in. At the Bull & Finch Pub, the door opens out, due to Boston regulations.
- On the show, the name of the restaurant upstairs from Cheers is Melville's Fine Seafood. Here (there) above the Bull & Finch Pub, the restaurant is called The Liberty Grill (or at least it was in 1994...don't know if it still is?).
- The bar in Cheers is an island bar and the bar at the Bull & Finch Pub is a wall bar - but both have identical details.
- The inside of Cheers was filmed at Paramount Pictures Stage 25 in Hollywood. The outside was filmed in Boston right here (there) at the Pub.
- A good game of pool is served in the backroom of Cheers. The back room of the Bull & Finch Pub serves drinks and great pub fare.
- The first show of Cheers was aired September 30, 1982. Were you watching?
I kind of cheated - my editor-in-chief Patrick was walking through the room at the time I read this (not that I surf the glorious interwebs at work, because that would be wrong) and asked him. I could only remember the "bull" part. And that was all he knew. So it bugged him enough that he was on a mission (Never mind that whole "getting the paper out before deadline" thing.)
So Slinger was down today, and after he and I went to lunch, I came back to find the post-it note on my desk with Patrick's answer.
I refuse to hop on the web for these answers Dagger -- if I don't know them I don't know them. But if don't know them and I can make it fun for co-workers, keep them coming. But... YOU WILL NEVER STUMP ME ON LOST TRIVIA! And I stand by that statement.
Sorry if my comment was the eqivalent of spiking the football in the end zone and doing a victory dance (my additional Cheers / Bull and Finch factoids my have been a little over the top)...but you posted a trivia question I actually knew the answer to AND I still had the store's catalog with a "did you know section" handy. Couldn't resit adding my 2 cents of free additional trivia on that one.
That being said...you'll probably never get another answer out of me because I'm terrible at trivia, especially movie and TV!
McGone, he's the king...don't you remember those lunches at Fool's playing trivia? I would definitely stay away from Lost trivia if you want to stump him!

I gotta make harder questions!
