I Gotta Try This!

Last Sunday it was beautiful outside so we decided to take a drive over to Salt Lake to watch the sun go down. When we got to the lake their was this guy flying around the area on this parachute with a fan thing and it looked awesome! I don't know what you call this but talk about looking peaceful! I wished I could take his place and fly with the geese that were all over and have the wonderful view of the Great Salt Lake with Antelope Island in the distance. Here's a few pictures of what we were watching....if anyone knows what these are called let me know.....I'm curious.

Been there, done that! (Of course, it it flys, I've tried it or I probably will try it)

It's called a powered parachute. The powered parachute I rode in was basically the same as pictured, except we had a tricycle with 2 seats and the engine / fan attatched to it. The guy pictured basically has the engine and fan attatched to his back. It is actually kind-of noisy, but once you get to a safe altitude, you can shut off the engine. There's a guy in Minooka who sells them and he's also an instructor...maybe you can try when your back in town!

WOW! Blogger actually let me post a comment! Granted, I had to do it annonymously and I had to go through the word verification 2 times (I'm sure I typed it correctly the first time).

See McGone's post..."I hate Blogger"

Nice to hear from you BPDP! Long time no talk to. Yeah...it was cool watching that guy fly around! He would swoop down to the ground and drag his legs through the tall weeds and cat tails along the edge of Salt Lake and then fly back up! Very cool.
