Daily Photo

This picture was taken Saturday morning when me and Diana went up to the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon. There is a dirt road that takes you to the very top past Alta Ski Resort. This road actually goes through one of the slopes when the resort is open. Anyways...along side the road there is a gravel path that leads to an overlook of the valley. Right next to the overlook is a circle of pine trees, each about 300 ft. tall, and in the middle of these are two strategically placed rocks to sit on. (It's kind of a hidden spot.) Anyways...this rock was sitting in front of one of the rock benches. (Remember...this is out in the middle of nowhere.) What I think happened was two strangers meet on the slopes and chose this spot for a little meeting place to bump uglies and the guy gave her a false name and number. Now she desperately wants to get back with him again and the only thing she can think to do is to leave this here hoping he will return. That's what I think happened. Anyone else have any theories?

Could be actually. Or Jim died skiing at Alta ski resort and his love, or family left, this note nearby as a message to him in the afterlife. (that may be too deep of an interpretation)

I agree with slinger--perhaps Jim's ashes are spread there also.

I love the albion basin--did you make it up in July/August to see the wildflowers? If not, put it on your to do list for next year, they are spectacular. We usually always spy a moose or two on the way up to the trail head as well.

Also, have you been to Millcreek canyon--it has an intimate feel, like Butterfield, only you really are in the mountains and not just the piddly oquirrh hills ;P.

Great photos!

Never heard of millcreek Canyon...sounds nice. I like Butterfield because it's so close to home. Last year I got chased by two moose in my car at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon...pretty scary.
