Hometown Hero

I'm at a loss for how to feel about Scott Speizio. I know how my wife feels about him. She's not his biggest fan because of what he did to Amy and the kids. On one hand my morals say I should dislike him because of what he did to his family, considering I have a wife and children. On the other hand it is pretty cool that we went to school with him and grew up in the same small town as him. It's every kids dream I think to make it to the major leagues and maybe just play a game....maybe hit a homerun......maybe make it to the world series. Scott has done all this AND not only made it but won the world series. Now he's contributing greatly to this Cardinal Team and if we're lucky will be playing for another world series ring. Pretty damn cool......and I say GO Scott! Play your ass off and make us proud! I know Morris is probably full of bandwagon Cardinal Fans now but ya know what...who cares....we can always use more people in the Cardinal Nation. As far as Scott's home life goes..I'm rooting for Scott the Cardinal...not Scott the Father.....although I guess he needs rooting for too.

The thing I've been saying all a long is that none of us know what it's like to be him and to live in his world, especially after 2002, nor do we know what was going on at home with them prior to all of this. Frankly, it's none of our buisness. I'm not saying what he did wasn't wrong. Cheating and divorce are both wrong, but who umong us is perfect.

That being said, why shouldn't we root for our hometown guy(especially when he's in a Cardinal unform!!)!
