Sorry Cardinal Nation, last night was my fault

Last night's implosion of the Cardinal bullpen was my fault. (Sorry McGone, I know you heard more than enough about this last night after I had a few (too many) margaritas) You see, whenever I watch the Cardinals on TV in public or listen to a Cards game on the radio (which I was doing when the Mets scored their first run), I bring bad luck to them. Last night, I not only watched the second 3/4 of the game from a Chili's resturant bar, I actually asked the bartender to change the channel so I could watch (that, obviously, was a big no, no). So, you can bet tonight I'll be watching all by myself from my humble abode.

All is not lost, though. I did say I expected it to go to seven games and, as McGone pointed out to me last night (many times, because it wasn't sinking in to my drunk head), they have to lose three games to win four in seven games. Hey McGone, I think I figured it out, finally...makes sense!

On a good note, Spieziomania has hit St. Louis, big time! The guy would've been (and was) called an idiot for growing that (some said ugly) hair on his chinny chin, chin and coloring it red...but who's laughing all the way to the bank now? Seattle didn't appreciate it, but I'll bet they're wishing it was still Mariner Blue now! Of course, they'd have had to made it to the post season (and actually played him) to get his "super human post season powers."

Go Cardinals!

Note: I tried to post a picture of some Cardinals fans sporting a "Spiez" (fake red chin hair), but the blogger wouldn't upload it...might be my slow internet connection...see the cardinals website and follow the link to Spieziomania reins in St. Louis.

I like to call it the "Spiez," but maybe we should call it "The Clutch."

Or maybe not, after last night. They should all be ashamed of themselves.

Wel, actually....my cousin was watching the game on channel out of Iowa (they live in Thomson) and their was an announcer that referred to it as "the tickler" So yeah, I think we need to call it that!

I like the tickler.....McGone's right...you have to lose 3 to win 4 in 7 games. Too bad we won't be home when we win!

That was Eric Byrnes calling it The Tickler on the FOX pre-game - he said that to Jeanne Zelasko. I think she changed the subject right after that.

Not your fault BPDP...remember it was Friday the 13th 2 days ago. The curse lingers sometimes. Just ask a lady I work with.
